Immigration Minister Says Canada Utilizing All Obtainable Instruments To Resolve Labour Shortages
Immigration Minister Sean Fraser stated, “We’re employing every tool at our disposal to address labour shortages, particularly in critical industries like health care, construction, and transportation.”
“These modifications will benefit Canadians in need of these services, and they will benefit employers by providing them with a more robust labour force on whom we can rely to propel our economy into a prosperous future.” “I am delighted to offer expanded routes to permanent residency in Canada for these in-demand workers.”
With the expansion of the FSW, a lot of industries are breathing a sigh of relief, including the transportation and personal assistance employee sectors.
Trucking And Private Assist Employee Sectors Welcome Enlargement Of The FSW
Stephen Laskowski, president of the Canadian Trucking Association, noted, “Every area of the Canadian financial system depends on the trucking industry.” “Today’s decision by Minister Fraser will help secure supply chains, from agricultural to manufacturing, by giving trucking companies access to a global workforce that was not previously available to our industry.”
There were 13,342 help-wanted listings for private assistance personnel on the Certainly.ca job board in mid-November.
The head of the Canadian Support Employees Association (CANSWA), Miranda Ferrier, praised Ottawa’s decision to add these jobs to the FSW to make it bigger.
“Private support staff provide most of the bedside nursing care for vulnerable Canadians across the country, and they are in desperate need of help to be able to provide basic patient care,” she said.
“The CANSWA and its members are grateful for the help these new Canadians have given and wish them well in their new home.”
