Advocates of both physical and digital services and solutions who are educated about the features and capabilities that drive adoption, usage, and, ultimately, guest loyalty. Enabled to make shopping effortless and smooth for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, and pick-up/drive-up locations.

As a Guest Advocate, no two days are identical, but a typical day will likely consist of the following duties:
- Create a pleasant environment by greeting each and every person with sincerity.
- Make a connection with guests by participating in warm and real conversation during each transaction; asking open-ended questions regarding the guest’s shopping experience, and using the answers to evaluate, comprehend, and modify your approach.
- Welcome guests to the self-checkout process and offer assistance as needed.
- Scan and bag all guest items quickly, neatly, and in line with company and food safety standards.
- Work effectively to reduce guest wait times while maintaining service quality.
- Inform the customer of planned and existing brand releases, store activity, and events.
- Every guest should be told about the REDcard’s benefits and helped through the application process.
- Learn how to use Wallet and other Target App features and services, and show guests how to do so.
- Know how to direct guests to enroll in, activate, and utilize all fulfillment services.
- Be empowered to make it right for the visitor while adhering to Target’s policies and procedures.
- Stop any bad situations from getting worse and make sure the guest has a good shopping experience again while following Target’s policies and procedures.
- Provide effortless and uninterrupted service to all order pick-up, drive-up, registry, and photo guests.
- Maintain a spotless, clutter-free work environment (including gathering abandoned items, baskets, and hangers)
- During business hours, stock supplies while being available to guests.
- Say “thank you” to every customer after you talk to them and make sure everyone is happy with their shopping experience.
- Establish a culture of integrity, safety, and compliance.
- Other duties are determined by business need.

We are a great place to work and care about our teams, so we would like to clarify a few more expectations:
- Perform cash register operations and cash transactions with precision.
- Scan, handle, and transfer products efficiently and safely, including lifting or moving merchandise weighing up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds sometimes.
- Required are a flexible work schedule (including nights, weekends, and holidays) and frequent attendance.
