Offshore supervisors are responsible for ensuring that offshore projects are planned, executed, and monitored.
- activities pertaining to the structure. Follow up on the offshore construction’s activities, including packing, loading, sea-as-needed, fastening, and pre-commissioning.
- Serve as the point of contact for offshore contractors and subcontractors to monitor their progress.
- Provide weekly reports on the offshore construction work. Participate in risk analysis as required to ensure the quality of the work.
- Assist the engineering team in verifying that the design for the offshore components satisfies all technical specifications before sending it to the construction contractor.
- Assist the leader of quality assurance, if necessary, in ensuring the fabrication is of proper quality and can be monitored.
- Weekly and monthly offshore technical meetings with contractors and subcontractors are required.
- communicate with the folks on land to ensure that the project documentation is filed and easily accessible.
- Make sure that the cost tracking and schedule reporting that is done offshore meets the needs of the project.
- Make sure that all construction and pre-commissioning work is done so that the handover to the commissioning team goes smoothly.
- Train and instruct new hires on how to enhance their abilities.
Qualifications/Minimum Employment Requirements
- A mechanical, piping, structural, or electrical and instrumentation engineering degree is preferred.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the oil and gas, mining, or offshore industries
- standard English (the French language is an advantage).
- must possess a solid technical background and knowledge of and expertise in offshore work.
- The applicant must have extensive experience fabricating metal structures, maintaining boilers, and assembling pipes.
