Latest Job Opportunity at JA Africa 2023: The JA Africa Programs Assistant is responsible for assisting the Programs Manager with programme management, business development, and database maintenance. The PA will also assist with special events and stakeholder relations.

In addition, the PA will assist member nations with planning and creating programs, managing grants, monitoring, assessing, and reporting, and creating training materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES for Job Opportunity at JA Africa

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

  • Develop new and/or update current resources to assist Member Nations in managing their initiatives, such as best-practice guidelines for managing the programme, methods for recruiting volunteers, training, and tools for monitoring and assessing the programme.
  • Track the reporting dates for all regional funding and distribute reminders and reporting templates to Member Nations; create the initial draughts of consolidated donor reports.
  • Assist with internal grant agreement procedures with Member Nations, project follow-ups, and project closures.
  • Monitoring and evaluation:
  • Document the surveys sent by Member Nations in accordance with a protocol and provide comments to Member Nations.
  • Assist interns who perform data entry or analysis to get started and monitor their progress.
  • Assist with the evaluation of the Member Nations’ annual Hewitt system reports.
  • Assist JAWW in collecting responses to special requests and launching new global programmes.
  • As required, assist with the planning of the annual regional company of the year competition as well as any special events (workshops, launch events, board meetings). Contribute to the creation of JA Africa’s annual reports, fact sheets, etc. by providing the marketing staff with pertinent programme information.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Track the whole grant application process, including researching opportunities, preparing proposals, and submitting them.
  • Assist in locating new funding possibilities and relevant data, facts, and statistics for inclusion in bids.
  • Create initial draughts for:
  • Interest letters
  • Concept notes; proposals

DATABASE MANAGEMENT

  • The information in the database about funders, prospects, partners, and other important people should be updated regularly.
  • Reply to or forward messages sent to the default email account.
  • Office Administration and Board Support
  • Assist the office with administrative duties (record keeping, scheduling, taking minutes for staff meetings, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS for Job Opportunity at JA Africa

  • A bachelor’s degree in International Development, Economics, Program Management, Education, or another discipline pertinent to the position
  • Program assessment and monitoring abilities can be acquired at school or on the job.
  • One to two years of full-time job experience in the relevant sector (internship experience is also acceptable). Graduates who are interested in performing national service can submit an application.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • The individual is detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Expertise with computers (must be proficient with MS Office)
