Library Clerk (Casual Staff) Jobs in New York 2023: serve as the initial point of contact for students and faculty at the Hedi Steinberg Library on the Beren Campus. provides assistance and carries out duties associated with providing library collections and services to the university community. 19 hours of part-time work every week The schedule will be Monday through Thursday, 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Position Responsibilities:
- adheres to specified processes and policies in the library and employs simple or limited-complexity library resources.
- checks out and returns library materials; registers students and other library users; and does various circulation-related tasks via the ILS (Integrated Library System).
- collects fines and updates patron information.
- informs library users of planned library policies and procedures. assists patrons with navigational inquiries and answers simple questions regarding the use of library resources, such as locating items in the OPAC and accessing service information on the library website.
- enters information for bibliographic and other complex records.
- Data extraction from online records
- tracks supplies, verifies item identification and availability on vendor websites, and delivers lists of required items to the supervisor.
- performs additional related tasks as assigned.
Experience & Education Background:
- High School Graduation Requirement
- More than two years of relevant experience is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- preferred knowledge of the Hebrew language
- must be capable of lifting up to 10 kg.
- Excellent reading, data entry, and word processing abilities; accuracy and attention to detail; good customer service disposition; good listening skills; and demonstrated patience with customers
- Use sound discretion in determining when to reply and when to direct patrons and/or questions to a professional librarian or supervisor.
- When interacting with library patrons, you should convey a positive image of the library and the university.
- Due to the frequent absence of a supervisor, self-discipline and sound judgement are needed.
