Summary of Position
This position reports to the Director of Quality and provides clinical support to Directors of Care in a certain area. They also help manage all the clinical needs that are needed to reach West Coast Senior Housing Management’s vision and goals.
The Regional Director of Care will pay special attention to making sure that their homes keep up with the following core deliverables:
- deliver the highest standard of care that is safe and resident-centered.
- Assist clinical teams in meeting and exceeding all legislative and regulatory criteria.
- Create and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the training of clinical team members and the implementation of policies and procedures to enhance evidence-based practice and skill competencies.
- Support strategies for ongoing quality improvement with clinical teams.
- Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of clinical team members.
- Assist team members in delivering superior service.
Responsibilities:
The Regional Director of Care’s key functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain professional partnerships that support and promote the WCSHM’s culture and mission.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the regional clinical teams.
- collaboration with different disciplines to support the execution of policies and procedures, education programs, and quality improvement activities
- Help clinical teams in the region get ready for regulatory inspections and audits, as well as come up with action plans for when they don’t follow the rules.
- Fill in as Director of Care when necessary.
- assists in the examination of clinical audit systems and the creation of policies and procedures to advance evidence-based practice.
- As required, communicate with the Health Authority regarding regional practices and efforts.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in nursing
- A registered nurse is one who holds an active license to practice from the appropriate regulating organization.
- Five years of recent clinical and leadership experience relevant to the field
- A candidate with a Master’s degree in a related healthcare professional will be favorably considered (ideally with a focus on gerontology).
Skills and Abilities
- Possesses the ability to work independently and productively within a team, as well as good leadership skills,
- and the capacity to employ system-wide reasoning to design, implement, and evaluate programs that inform clinical practice management.
- capacity to serve as a model for expert practice and to aid in the development of professional skills for interdisciplinary teams.
- capability to integrate adult education and learning ideas into programs and methods.
- computer abilities, especially MS Office proficiency. Advantageous would be familiarity with Point Click Care and MDS-RAI.
- physical capacity to accomplish the work, which will require travel to multiple locations.
